and maintain care and comfort of the casualty with the emphasis on preventing situations from becoming worse
and maintaining life until help arrives.

Practical Assessment and a Multi Choice Exam

Course information

This First Aid training course is suitable for those who need to be First Aiders in the Workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.  This course can be adapted to suit a particular a particular workplace. The First Aid at Work course is run over three days and includes both theory and practical sessions. We can run this to suit your exact requirements, for example – one day a week over three weeks. The qualification comprises of two mandatory units with a total of 3 credits and 24 guided learning hours.

How is the First Aid training course assessed

Written assessments are undertaken on days 1 and 3. Practical skills will be assessed continuously throughout the first aid at work course.

This course is suitable for anyone who might need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at work, and covers a wide range of injuries and illnesses.

Is the First Aid course for me

This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who work in high hazard environments such as construction, manufacturing or agriculture.

It is also ideal for organisations whose needs assessment identifies a requirement for additional first aid training (e.g. due to having employees with a disability or medical condition).

Further qualification recognition

This qualification meets the legal requirements for successful delegates to act as workplace First Aiders.
