The course is divided into two units:

Unit EC1: Management and Control of Environmental Hazards

• Environmental management systems and standards (e.g. ISO 14001)

• Environmental risk assessments and impact evaluation

• Control of emissions to air, land, and water

• Waste management, noise, energy, and resource efficiency

• UK, EU, and international legal frameworks

Unit EC2: Environmental Practical Application

• A workplace-based assignment

• Assessment of environmental performance

• Practical demonstration of applying EC1 knowledge

Assessment is completed in two parts:

1. Unit EC1: Open Book Examination (OBE) completed at home under timed conditions

2. Unit EC2: Practical application assignment submitted post-exam, based on your own workplace or a simulated environment

No classroom exams required.
